Infos

Kinderhaus M'bali-M'bala is a Non-Governmental Organization that promotes sustainable development and art education mainly for the youth. Kinderhaus M'bali-M'bala picks up where the school system left off by molding the children into creative, agricultural, multi-lingual free thinkers who understand the importance of nature and art in a society. The children, in the age from 6 to 16 years, learn about gardening and bio-diversity, yoga, art and craft, cooking, music, movies, computers and the internet and of course they learn about the beautiful African continent. All the activities are held in English, German and Spanish.

This is environmental education with an empowerment approach, children will range leads to sustainable alternatives in their daily lives. They learn to behave socially towards their fellow human beings and their environment, according to the African philosophy ubuntu. Within the offer they create together environmentally-friendly dishes, develop various games, translate and discuss popular movies and songs. They also learn how to use the internet accordingly. At the end of each month during a workshop with contemporary local and international artists, the children develop their own artwork that they get to take home or share with the space. All of the activities happen in a foreign language, to help them associate a foreign and an at first difficult language with joyful pass-time and allow them to enrich their vocabularies effortlessly.

They will be introduced to a low-threshold and empowering way in the world of environmental education. With the goal to give them the tools they need for a positive and reflective outlook within their surrounding.
